Does anybody in this league subscribe to MLB tv. I was thinking of signing up for a $110. Do you think it's worth it? Any problems? comments?

I don't subscribe, but I do watch whatever the free game of the day is on my PS3.

though, I'd prefer to watch the Yanks, I'll watch any teams play. smiling smiley

The only issue I know with MLB.tv is that you cannot watch the home market games. So for someone like me to get it, I need to call up a friend in another city, and have him sign up for the account, so I could watch the Yankees and not the Indians (for example).

Aside from the market thing, while I haven't used it in a while, I never loved the quality. Frankly, I think SlingBox is an awesome investment for anyone, and I'd be much happier with that and the TV subscription than MLB.tv.

I used it last year, although I used a friend's account. I thought it was more than worth it if you buy at the beginning of the season, although the price is a little steep. I have two monitors on my computer, so one of them would have 2 MLB.tv games going.

I feel like it would be pretty easy to split an account with someone to cut costs - I don't think they monitor where you log in from.

Are we sure about this? Can two people be logged in at the same time? If so...

Yes multiple logins were always allowed in the past.

I used it for a few years. It was useful at work. Steve is correct in that the quality was a little dodgy a few years back but I imagine it's significantly improved.

I was watching on my ps3 but my cable broadband is pretty good. Typically 30Mbps. And I run copper all over my house instead of wifi.

MLB Network is fantastic, but if you're talking about wanting to get all the games, that's MLB Extra Innings, which is a significant extra charge.

I guess I won't be getting MLB TV. I found out that living anywhere in Iowa these teams are blacked out: White Sox, Cubs, Brewers, Royals, Cards and Twins. They are considered "local market" even though only 1 team is covered in our area by FSN north. (Twins).
Re: MLB TV

That's incredibly stupid. Unless every game is televised in your area there is no reason to block all of those out. I can't imagine that every day all of those teams are broadcasted in your region.

In New York, Mets and Yankees games are blacked out because every game is televised on a major network.

Bill, I would check with your cable provider about MLB Extra Innings and see what is/isn't blacked out. If you need it mobile, you can look into slingbox. I think Extra Innings may be less stringent.

I knew living in IOWA had its issues, but this was one I'd never considered. it IS worse than Brainerd, MN.

though, I do like Granite City Brew-pubs. smiling smiley

thanks, we'll be flying into Minneapolis, and staying with my wifes friends there for a night or so. Then driving up to Brainerd. spending a couple days a coming back. I'm upset the Twins are traveling the proposed weekend.
